Please read the guidelines for this open studio/mentored session. Participants must follow these guidelines and apply for the correct spot based on their experience level. Registering for the wrong level based on the guidelines may require the participant to pay the difference if there is space available. Questions: email media@ladysmitharts.ca. *Mentored Session For the novice user, receive additional training/feedback by printmaking coordinator during open studio

Novice Printmakers: Users not ready to work entirely on one’s own’; working under supervision – for those who recently took an introduction to printmaking course with the ACLD or those who have some experience but need to brush up on their skills. Must have taken ACLD orientation course ( which is included in Introduction to Printmaking)

*Open Studio: Experienced Printmakers Those who have been actively printmaking 5+ years and have a strong understanding of printmaking and have taken multiple courses through ACLD and/or completed and been approved through the Orientation Session within the last 4 months. No guidance will be given.

How open studio time works:

  • This is a non toxic print studio, Akua Inks are the only inks allowed in the space. No chemicals or adhesives in this space.
  • When you arrive check in with the printmaking coordinator
  • Participants are required to clean up after themselves

What is provided:

  • Access to the printing press
  • Akua Intaglio Inks
  • Brayers
  • Some assorted print studio tools

What is not provided:

  • Printmaking plate
  • Printmaking paper
  • Apron
